Terrorists do not have the resources nessasary to sustain or ignite a nuclear war.You would probably be fighting the Russians or Chinese.

I don't really know how all well anti-nuclear defences are nowadays (as opposed to crappy 20 years ago), but wouldn't even the big powers want to smuggle nukes inside a well-protected city? Tactics would be the same as terrorists in that regard.

The total number of nukes the Chinese and Russians have in ICBM form is quite large unfortunately most of them have been traced so they are basically worthless it's the ones the US doesn't know about that we can actually use. Anyway briefcase 1 kiloton nukes can be easilly smuggled into cities but their pretty strategically useless as military protocol dictates that the first targets in a nuclear war are the oppenent's silos. So we'd basically be safe... until we ran out of nukes that is.

Only the military protocol of big countries. England, France will just fire at the highest enemy population centre (they can't afford to take a nuke, and, by local god, they are gonna make the enemy pay).

Well if it were China everyone needs to grab a gun and we need to start making some serious ammunition. China has a lot more people than we do but we have much better trained ones. Marines once got trapped in North Korea cus China ran across the boarder and kept them there. Marines lost because they ran outa ammunition. xD If I'm not mistaken their army is over a million people. As for nukes..pretty sure a nuke would take roughly 5-10 seconds to reach American waters from China/Russia. I honestly don't think anyone would use a nuke though..it's just too dangerous now.

Actually nukes still take quite a while. few minutes flight time.

Coulda sworn I heard it only took like..5-10 second..or maybe it was more like 30 seconds. Regardless.. It's really not a whole lot of time and chances are we'd never know, they'd just hit.

Nukes usually take 1hr from prep to detonation. The locus of their flight paths mean that the icbms deploy x amount of warheads during reentry of the stratosphere. Obviously the longer the distance the longer the filght time. Also I'm not sure American troops are better trained than the Chinese, sure ur special forces are rated higher but overall I don't think there is any difference. Oops getting off topic here.

All our special forces are the best, period. Sure they arn't blind followers that blow themselves up for some nubs in heaven but they are way more skilled and trained much better than anything else out there. I'd have to say our troops are given better equipment and trained better overall as well. I mean China's army is like a million + strong, if they spent as much money as we do on all their individual troops they'd be as broke as America is by now.

Granted both our replies are highly subjective to bias as you are a member of the US armed forces and I am [nationality redacted]. Hmm experimental ballistics result show that the QBZ-95 has better performance than the standard M16A4 or whatever the standard rifle you guys use. Not sure of the comparion between modern versions of M4A3s though.

Well.. I'd rather have 5 well trained great soldiers, than 50 mediocre ones.

Didn't China recently (recently = i'm not sure when) go about dramatically reducing the size of their army so they'd have more money spent on tech that actually helps in a war? American soldiers do not have the reputation for being the most trained in the world anyway. Most experienced yes....

Btw Australian special forces > US :D...at least our snipers are better, shooting kangaroos out of choppers seems to help alot.

Also i swear you two are the alter egos of some confused Korean-American science professor...

I wouldn't say that your snipers our better then ours, marine, you can't generalize a profession like that. I usually compare it to 1900's watch making, sure many people could do it with trainning, but only a few can do it well.

I second that. Quality is over quantity (although there is a limit as well). If you got 500 mediocre soldiers, then it's another story :)
