i say, lets fight fire with fire, let loose the chinese! the zerg will never know what hit them, and before they know it, they will be surrounded by billions of chinese dudes armed with anything, and then we send the people from india, now those are numbers!, just give each a rock or something (just to make it cheap) and watch those poor zerg get destroyed, oh and of curse, the chinese would be controled by top 5 korean players.

China has about 2 million men under arms. That means they have some sort of weapon, at least a rifle.

The US has about 700,000 men under arms.

UK about 300,000 etc....

In total I would estimate the world's combined forces at about 8 million men (trained).

I can't imagine anything but a large scale Zerg invasion having any effect. From what I've seen even now our planet would be awfully hard to invade. The planets of the Koprulu sector, etc seem to be rather small compared to Earth.

Then you have to factor in the cost of transporting enough forces to do the job across such a vast distance. As of yet I don't think the Zerg have light-speed travel.

I think otherwise. Take a look at the zerg, they multiply 10 times faster than us! They would send over 10 million, maybe billions of zerg ready to kill. We'd be owned. Plus they would wipe out quite a bit before the world united to counter attack. And also, havent you seen the cimnamics? You know the ones where the marines shoot at the zerg with their guns (higher tecno than us) and it does absolutely nothing? We're done for.

youre forgetting, nukes are effective vs zerg. we have nukes (170,000 i think) and we dont need ghosts to paint a target to launch them either. i think any zerg invasion force would be pretty screwed.

That's if the attacked country has nukes.. or if some allied country feel like using nukes..

But, of course, since this is an "non-earth vs earth" invasion.. I'm 100% sure the USA would do everything just to be the ones who defeat the menace.

Then again... again, If the zerg all attacked in one place then yea ok nuke em, but lets say they attack in ...oh, 20 to 30 diffrent places. We can't nuke all those places, we'd kill off 70% of our population (moslty because the radiation). Then lets say they decide to attack again, or that some zerg survived...

the scenario will probably play out like this:
1)zerg attack north korea and the middle east
2)US looks the other way till the zerg have done their job
3)Nucl-Nuc-Nuclear Lau-Nucl-Nuclear Launch Detected
4)US wins the war vs. terrorism.

terrorists can be pretty much helpful against the zerg. they plant themselves with explosives, the overmind assimilates them, and BOOM! his eye would burst and splatter blood all over the earth.

Well.. that's how your own eye in your head is supported as well, with a series of tendons and muscles. It's floating in a viscous liquid.

Anyway, back on topic....

Yes. We really do have a lot of nukes, although I don't think it's 170,000 since the Nuclear Proliferation Treaty which included clauses for reducing the size of each nation's nuclear arsenal, specifically the US and Russia.

Furthermore, can you imagine how much it would cost in resources to move a force of billions across a distance that large? It would be pretty much impossible. Even once they had landed it woudl take time to gather enough resources to mount any type of attack against us.

Face it, it would be a large task and probably almost impossible to invade this planet from such a distance.

Even the UED had a tough time and they were entering a zone completely divided. Also, from what I can see, the StarCraft universe isn't as populated as our own planet is, really. I mean we're not talking forces of millions in the StarCraft campaigns. I would assume to them an army of perhaps 30,000 would be HUGE.

To us it's a sprinkling of dust in the age of armies the size of the population of nations.

There isn't Vespene gas on earth.

And I'm sure we have enough firepower to deal with mass Zerglings.

I've always assumed that Vespene gas was some kind of gas we have but is just different to them. Plus I'm sure they could just adapt to a different kind of gas.

I wonder if there actually IS a Vespene gas.... Nope. Apparently not.
