-_-' It was on Dutch television.

    @ Ace
Isn't part 10 the one with those girls that you need to dress up to get them new powers? I always thought that was a bit lame, to be honest.

Ow, never really played the newer ones. Just 7 and the first 4 parts the gba.

Fire Emblen on GBA rocked. Characters there are awesome. Never seen anything come close to that in a turn-based handheld rpg. ^^

FFX was a really good game, its easier to play also because it was well designed, but FF7 is still the better story and development IMO.

A lot of people attack FF7 though, I don't see why. It was that game that brought a lot of people over to the world of RPG's. Great now I have to play it again. It's funny how I have never beaten a Final Fantasy game. I get to the final boss and then I start playing a new game. I did hear that the final boss in FF7 is way too easy.

It's just how the world works. Also, if someone attacks FF7, he is almost for sure a fan of another FF game (most likely 6 or 8). Works both ways.

    Sorta spoiler-ish
Didn't play X, but I hear it was in the same world/universe as 7?

whether or not the boss was easy or not is irrelevant to the actual game. Considering their are hard boss's throughout the game as well as the Ultimate Weapons(side bosses that are harder then anything in the game). The end boss of FF7, you could breeze through the game and fight him at lvl 60.. might be difficult.. or u can breeze through and take ur time at the end to lvl up b4 him and fight him at 80 or w/e and be easy. You could also use the Knight of the Realm Materia if you did the side quest to 1 shot him. It still does not take away from the game in the least. and Like you said FF7 paved the way for most RPG's today since back in 97, there was no game like it and was definately ahead of its time.

FFX was nothing like FF7 in terms of the world or universe in my eyes. Accept for maybe the summons.. which are seen in every FF.. nothing out of the ordinary.

I only remember two of the summons: Shiva -got insanely strong with me, compared to the others- and some sort of demon out of a pentagram. Hard to beat and get, looked strong, but did almost no damage compared to other summons I had. Even with that button-bash thing.

    Could be. :s
I played it for the last time about 5 years ago, and played a fair amount of rpg games since then. The game was from a friend of mine, but we played all of it together.

There was this city that could fly iirc, a desert, robots, demons, all sort of stuff. Even a t-rex or something. You had an attack that was really strong, but you had to be alost dead to use it. Oh, and you started in bed, but that happens all the time in rpg games. Any idea if it was part 8? Then I have remembered it wrong all this time... :s

    -desert
    -robots
    -demons
    -flying cities
    -dinosaurs

Any idea how many games fit these?

But I'm pretty sure it was 8 (main hero used gunblade, right?)
The summon you were talking about was probably Diablos, one of the best things ever in an FF game. His damage was meh, since he did gravity damage - a percentage of opponent's current hp, with a limit of 9999 per hit. Using it on weak monsters is bad idea. But he gave you ability to turn off random encounters (I think it was him).
    Again, turn off random encounters.

If you don't get it, you need to play more jRPGs :D

Jup. That was it. Diablos and that gunblade thing. Never really found out that Diablos was for that. We just kept bashing that buton. :p

His English sucked, so I missed out on a lot of the story. -he always clicked away the dialogs, but we switched every battle- Meh, maybe I will buy a ps2 on queensday. Should be pretty cheap by now. Gonna play it myself then. :D

Diablo was a tricky GF in FF8. It works on percentages. So at level ten it does damage equal to 10% of the enemies current HP. So for every level you had a percentage. The most amount of damage you can do with Diablo is 99% of current HP. But it takes forever to get him at that level.I only used him to get the mug ability and to defeat Tonberries to fight the Tonberry King, Since Tonberries are weak against Diablo.
